For The Love of Flowers
“If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly
our whole life would change.”
- Buddha
At Flora of The Flats, we are serious about sustainability. We strive for the most ethical practices, from the moment a seed is planted to moment you unwrap your fresh cut blooms.
We passionately care about the environment and our role within our community and as such, have implemented the following best practices at Flora of The Flats:
We only sell flowers from our gardens that have been grown from seed, right here on out little farm.
We don't use harmful chemical, period. This includes pesticides and synthetic fertilizers in the gardens, or paints and dyes on the post harvest stems.
We strive to eliminate as much packaging as possible, where we can't, we use reusable, recyclable and compostable products to wrap and package our flowers. We will never use any plastic or petroleum based products.
We have implemented a vase return program in efforts to keep our waste low and your clutter and cost down!
We buy local! We source our seeds from small local Canadian farms and source our hard goods from local Calgarian Companies.

Farmer & Florist
Hi Neighbour! I'm The face behind Flora Of The Flats. My passion for flowers has been with me nearly my whole life. I grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan, helping my Grandma tend the garden since I was knee high to a bumble bee.
My curiosity for growing anything I possibly can has only grown stronger over time. Immersing myself in the gardens throughout growing seasons, and diving deep into continuing education in the winter months through books and courses about Floriculture, Floral Design, Master Gardener, best growing practices and everything in between.
